Peter Driessen, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
His drive for the company has always been to assemble an experienced and passionate team that is in tune with the wants and needs of today’s consumers, and to leverage that experience and passion to develop the world’s favorite online playground. The existence of Spil Games is a product of Peter’s entrepreneurial spirit, and his philosophy of investing in the right people while focusing on long-term goals is the drive behind the company’s success.
Prior to co-founding Spil Games with Bennie Eeftink, Peter owned a consulting firm specializing in assessment and management coaching. So it should be no surprise that, as Spil’s CEO, Peter focuses on human-resources management, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions.
Bennie Eeftink, Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder
Bennie has since built on that experience to become Spil’s specialist in all things related to online user experience, and is an expert at scanning the market for business opportunities. As the company’s Chief Strategy Officer, Bennie assists Peter Driessen in creating, communicating, executing, and sustaining strategic initiatives within Spil Games, and he shares Peter’s enthusiasm for investing in passionate talent to pilot Spil Games into the future.
Before Bennie joined Peter Driessen in the founding of Spil Games, he was already an entrepreneur. He founded his first Internet company back in 1999, utilizing his degree in commercial economics. He soon became a specialist in domain-name trading and building online communities.
Oscar Diele, Chief Marketing Officer
Oscar has remained just as busy at Spil Games, where he is responsible for all consumer marketing activities: online marketing, the management of all game sites (including the creation, acquisition, and localization of all content), and all company and public communications.
Backed by a bachelor’s in marketing from Hogeschool Windesheim and an executive MBA from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, Oscar had already made waves in the world of marketing prior to joining Spil Games in 2009. Spil was excited to gain from his experience at Wehkamp.nl, The Netherlands’ leading e-tailer; eBay, where he oversaw the integration of top Dutch e-auctioner Marktplaats.nl into the eBay family; and TomTom, where he built an e-commerce platform and directed all marketing and sales activities in 25 regions around the world.
Willem van Wijmen, Chief Financial Officer
With degrees in business administration from Nyenrode Business University and business economics from the University of Amsterdam, Willem is Spil Games’ resident finance guru. His careful financial planning and management of Spil Games’ cash flow has helped the company flourish in its explosive growth over the past few years.
Before stepping in as Spil Games’ CFO in 2007, Willem began his career as a financial consultant at KPMG, followed by a stint as the Finance Director for the Dutch Business News Radio (his first brush with new media).
Ivo Teel, Senior Vice President Technology
Since then he has performed various roles in the company, from programmer to systems engineer, gaining vast knowledge and experience of both the online-gaming industry and the company’s technological needs. Well-acquainted with the ins and outs of Spil Games, Ivo drives the company’s technical vision and strategy.
Long before becoming Spil Games’ CTO, Ivo was a gamer—it’s what first pulled him online in 1996 and fueled his love for technology. With a degree in computer science and engineering plus several years’ experience running a large-scale IRC network (Axenet), he joined Spil in 2002.
Floris Jan Cuypers, Vice President of Corporate Development & External Communications
Floris Jan currently leads the corporate and business development team, and the corporate communications team at Spil Games, focusing on strategy, company growth, strategic partnerships, and investor relations.
Prior to joining Spil Games in 2009, Floris Jan was responsible for Google’s advertiser marketing and brand activation programs in the Netherlands and Belgium, as well as integrated brand programs and business development projects for YouTube globally. He has also worked as a product marketeer for Philips and as a strategy consultant with the global consulting firm Monitor Group, where he worked throughout Europe and the United States in the FMCG, electronics, publishing, and energy industries. Floris Jan earned an MSc in applied physics with a minor in business administration from Delft University of Technology.
