Developers
With our vast and varied group of dedicated casual gamers, games of almost any genre will find an audience. If you’re looking for design guidance, we recommend that you visit our gaming sites and think about what type of game would do well with our players. Quality is key, so make sure you deliver a well-polished game!
Games with an exclusive or primary license will be distributed on any of our channels that we deem appropriate (based on the game’s target audience and content). Not all content can be distributed through all of our channels as some games are simply not appropriate for some audiences.
You cannot show your own advertisement in any game on our websites. If the game is going to be seeded elsewhere, then it may be possible, subject to the terms of the licensing agreement.
While there may be some redesign work involved, this should be relatively simple. Implementation of the localization element of the API can be more work, depending on how much text there is in the game.
The marketing assets we need are listed in the license agreement terms and conditions. We recommend that you provide the marketing images and any other assets required yourself, as your deep knowledge of the game allows you to create the most effective marketing tools.
This varies with the complexity of the game and the nature of API integration. Usually, it takes no longer than four weeks (including the time required to translate the game’s text into our 19 languages).
In short: no. Spil Games currently tailors its offerings to young and family audiences. We have no interest in games with adult themes: this includes sexual, offensive, or excessively violent content. In most cases we will not accept games with red blood in them without a mechanism for disabling this.
If you feel that someone has copied your game and submitted it as their own, please
contact our licensing team immediately. We will investigate the alleged infringement before taking further action to determine where the ownership of the game lies. We will use any means at our disposal to ensure that the legitimate license holder retains the rights to their game.
We want your games! If you’re a Flash game developer, please
contact us to send us your game. If you are an HTML5 game developer, you can find more information about our mobile gaming strategy in this site’s
Mobile section. If you are a social-game developer or publisher, please see the
Social Networks section for more information.
Not at this time; however, we do plan to add support for other languages in the future.
Spil Games focuses on reaching local audiences with localized content and encouraging gamer loyalty through social gaming as strategies to differentiate and tailor our gaming content to our players’ needs. Our API is your key to implementing these strategies in your game; using our API not only makes your game more valuable to Spil, but it also makes your game more attractive to Spil’s audience.
The Spil Games API has a number of different functions. First, it enables your game to seamlessly integrate into the Spil portfolio of websites. It also handles the implementation of localization and branding for our various websites, ensuring that if the game is listed on multiple websites (such as agame.com and games.co.uk), the branding and language displayed to the end user are always correct. Finally, it enables your game to interact with our sites’ social features, handling the submission of the awards, high scores, and other social features that increase the exposure and repeat-play value of your game.
Of course, Spil Games will pay you, the developer, a fixed licensing fee for each game we launch on our websites based on the amount and terms of payment agreed upon and laid out in your licensing agreement. A good rule of thumb is that the more control over the IP we have, the more of our APIs that are implemented, and the better the game is, the more we are willing to pay. In addition to payment, we also help our developers tap into a huge game-playing audience: 120 million unique visitors per month visit our globe-spanning portfolio of websites. To reach all of these global players, we will also translate your game into up to 19 languages, boosting the quality of your source texts as part of the process. Where might your game be featured? Click here to see our sites around the world.
Ideally, we would like to have exclusive or primary licenses for the games we publish. However, we will also consider non-exclusive licenses on a case-by-case basis.
With an exclusive agreement, Spil Games owns the license rights to the game. Only the version of the game incorporating Spil’s branding requirements may be released, and only through Spil Games’ gaming sites. You will not be allowed to license the game to any other company.
With a primary sponsorship, the game will be released on Spil Games’ sites, but may also be spread freely around the Internet—provided that it meets the Spil branding requirements at all times. The developer may still license a site-locked, non-exclusive version to other parties.
In a non-exclusive agreement, Spil Games simply licenses a copy of the game that incorporates Spil Games branding and API integration. The developer may still license multiple non-exclusives on that game without our branding.
Our Licensing Managers will work with you to find the best variation on these agreements to suit everyone’s needs.
We do require a contract (licensing agreement), but the nature of that contract is up for discussion and subject to your agreement. While some terms of the contract are standard, the commercial terms will be determined through an agreement between yourself and Spil Games.
Anyone can be a Spil Games developer; all you need is a good game. If that describes you, please contact our licensing team at licensing@spilgames.com. Describe in your email the game you have or are planning to make, including the game itself or any designs/graphics, if available. One of our licensing managers will then get in touch with you to discuss our interest and how to proceed. (Note: We recommend you familiarize yourself with our API in advance, as this will enable you to get the game ready for release as soon as possible.

Consumers
Once you are signed in to a game site, you will be able to access your profile from a link at the top-right of the screen. Once in your profile, you can click on the links under your avatar and info to edit your account information.
When you create an account with us, you will receive an email with instructions on how to activate it. Look for it in your spam/bulk mail folder if you haven’t received it. Also, please keep in mind that all children under the age of 14 need permission from a parent or guardian to create an account. If you are under 14, an email will first be sent to a parent and guardian, and they must check and approve the email before you are sent your activation email.
We’ll be sad to see you go! But if you really want to delete your account permanently, you can do so here:
http://www.gamesgames.com/unregister.html. (It doesn’t matter on which site you created your account; just as you can use one account to sign in to all of our gaming sites, if you delete your account on one site, it will be removed from all of our sites.)
Keep in mind that you will lose all of your saved high scores, creations, avatars, etc., when you delete your account! But you can start over with a new account anytime you like.
Please check your spam/bulk folder for the password-reset email. If you don’t find it here, please check the spelling of the email address in your profile. Please note that this email is valid for only three days—so if the email is older, you might have to request a new one.
On the sign-in screen, follow the link for a forgotten password and follow the instructions to have a link emailed to you with instructions on how to set a new password.
When the trial period ends, you are given the option to buy the game. You can also visit our website to buy the full version. Once purchased, you will receive a code to unlock the full version of the game.
The order number can be found in the confirmation email you received after purchasing the game.
When you purchase a game, a link and an activation code are sent to you by email. To download the game, you can click on the link in that email.
A game can be downloaded a maximum of three times within the first two weeks of receiving the download email. If you get the message, “The file could not be found,” the game has most likely already been downloaded three times, or two weeks have passed. In this case, please send us an email, including your order number, to receive a new link.
